On Friday, March 17, 2023, the Office of International Teaching and Research at the College of Horticulture and Forestry Sciences hosted an interactive session for all international students, postdoctoral researchers, and foreign faculty. The event was attended by a number of faculty and staff members such as Zhang Hongrong, Cui Mimi, Zhang Jianhua, Xu Zileng, Prof. Robert M. Larkin, Prof. Li Chunlong, Prof. Munenori Kitagawa, Dr. Shoaib Munir, and more than 20 international students.
During the event, College Zhang Hongrong, Party Secretary, welcomed all attendees and expressed his admiration for their dedication and enthusiasm. He also congratulated recently graduated students and encouraged them to pursue their academic or professional journeys with the same passion.
Mrs. Cui Mimi, Deputy Director of the Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges, praised the college’s commitment to inclusivity and diversity. She noted that by coming together and sharing experiences, attendees could gain new insights and perspectives. She thanked the college for arranging the interactive session and emphasized the positive impact of such events on students and faculty members.
Dr. Shoaib from the Office of International Teaching and Research and Mrs. Xu Zileng from the Graduate Office of the college provided information on graduation procedures and answered questions related to coursework, comprehensive exams, mid and final reports, paper publication, and dissertation requirements. Attendees shared their problems and offered suggestions to improve the international experience for everyone in the college.
The interactive session was a success, with participants expressing their excitement and eagerness for more such opportunities in the future. By fostering a culture of inclusivity and diversity, the College of Horticulture and Forestry Sciences is creating a dynamic and supportive academic community that benefits everyone.
