With poplar and Arabidopsis as the main research materials, Dr. Shi Xueping uses technologies of molecular biology, bioinformatics and functional genomics to study the regulatory mechanisms of plant peptide hormones and miRNAs in the determination and differentiation of vascular cambium. Shi hosts 3 projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and the research results were published in Briefings in Bioinformatics, Science of Total Environment, Current Biology, Horticulture Research and other journals. She lectures for undergraduates and postgraduates on “Molecular Cloning Techniques in Forest Trees”, “R for Scientific Plotting”, “Tree Breeding”, “Experimental Design and Data Analysis”, “Experiment of Tree Molecular Biology” and “Practical Course–Forest Tree Breeding and Cultivation”.
