Prof. Zhulong Chan was selected as a researcher of the “Hundred Talents Program” of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2011 and “Chutian Scholar” of Hubei Province in 2015. He was named as “Highly Cited Chinese Researchers” by Elsevier in 2020 and 2021, and the world’s top 100000 scientists in 2020 and 2021.
He presided over 3 NSFC projects and published more than 90 SCI article in Cell Res, PNAS, J Pineal Res, Plant Physiology, New Phytol, Plant Biotech J, J Exp Bot as the first author or corresponding author, with a total number of citations of 5500 times and a H index of 45.
His group mainly focuses on development and adaptation of ornamental plants, including bulbous plants and turfgrass. The mechanism of bulb expansion and flower bud differentiation of tulip and lily were characterized, and the annual supply of cut or potted flowers of tulips and lilies are achieved in four seasons. Responses of cold and warm season turfgrass to environmental conditions were revealed and regulation mechanism of signal transduction networks of abiotic stress in turfgrass was discussed.
