The College of Horticulture and Forestry Science of Huazhong Agricultural University (HZAU) activity adheres to the concept of cultivating top-notch innovative talents with an international perspective and promoting scientific research through high-level international cooperation.
We are cooperating with well-known universities and research institutions, such as the Wageningen University of Netherlands, Kyoto University of Japan, University of Florida, Cornell University, University of Maryland, Curtin University of Australia, the International Plant Genetic Resources Institute (IPGRI), and many others to establish stable long-term research and student exchange programs.
Every year, the college invites world-renowned scientists and experts from abroad for academic communications with the college faculty and staff. In recent years, the college has successfully hosted various international conferences and symposiums, such as the 11th International Citrus Congress, the Fifth International Symposium on Persimmon, the 1st ISHS International Symposium on Vegetable Grafting, International Symposium on Genetic Analysis and Applications of Quantitative Characters in Potato, International Symposium on Chrysanthemum and International Symposium on Potato Late Blight Resistance.
The college is collaborating with the International Plant Genetic Resources Institute (IPGRI) to build a Horticulture Plant Molecular Technology Training Center and with the Wageningen University of Netherlands to build an International Horticulture Plant Biology Training Center.
Global Communications
Established in April 2022, the Office of International Teaching and Research serves as a channel to connect the College of Horticulture and Forestry Sciences of Huazhong Agricultural University with other institutions across the globe through various social media platforms and other communication tools. The International Teaching and Research Office also plays an important role in collaborating with academics and offices both internally and externally to improve the outreach and brand-building capabilities of the college.
